Open House

On Sunday, February 20, we had an open house for a couple reasons.  First of all, it was a celebration of having the whole Horlings family back for the first time in 10 years. Secondly, because so many people had been involved in our lives growing up we couldn't possibly see them all individually so this gave us the opportunity to visit with as many as possible.  We had about 150-200 people come from 14 different nationalities.  It was truly a celebration!

Worship at Hillcrest Chapel first thing in the morning.

A trip to Hillcrest would not be the same without playing on the playground again.  Aaron and I have sort of
outgrown our old "hang" outs.
The little girl in the picture with Brandon is Anna.  She is the daughter of some good friends and her parents came to help organize and run the open house so we could visit.  Her family used to have a female tortoise but when they moved they brought her to my parent's compound to join their male tortoise.  Well, since Anna visits my parent's all the time, she thought it was her right to show the tortoises to Brandon.  However, this was Brandon's Grandma's house so it he thought it was his right to show Anna the tortoises.  They both showed each other the tortoises they had both already spent quite a bit of time playing with.  It was a good laugh!

Garba came to make suya for the open house.  DELICIOUS!!

Visiting

More visiting around the amazing food!  One of things I miss the most.

Finally some down time after a crazy busy weekend.  Of course, whenever there's down time in the family, Rebel and sometimes Acu (the African parrots) always join.

Grandma and Brandon's day would not be complete without a story.  So precious.
Have a wonderful Wednesday.  Mine booked solid!
