We're Home!

Well, we made it back.  It was an adventursome trip home, that's for sure!!  Checking in (us, our bags and hand carries) was four times as long and complicated as it should have been, the 12 hour flight to Atlanta was thankfully quite uneventful, but once we got through customs in Atlanta Brandon's diahrrea started and as we were saying good-bye to the last of my siblings, he vomitted and continued for the next 10 hours.  We were quite worried about him becoming dehydrated and at one point on the flight from Atlanta to Seattle he became quite lethargic.  We kept giving him sips of water, in the hopes keeping him hydrated, but inevitably 30 minutes later the little bit he kept down came back up again.  He could hardly walk by the time we arrived in Seattle from being so weak so we put him in the stroller and put Micah in the sling.

Don drove to pick us up in Seattle, but the normally 2.5 hour drive to the airport took him just under 4 hours because of the winter storm and icy roads.  Thankfully the roads weren't as bad on the way home and we made it back in a little over 3 hours.  On the drive home I talked to a nurse about Brandon.  The little tests she gave told me to do told us that he wasn't dangerously dehydrated so she said to get him up every couple hours and keep giving him sips of water and/or watered down Gatorade.  If he didn't keep anything down then we had to take him to the doctor today.  Thankfully he kept everything down last night and has continued asking for more liquid.  He even has kept a few cheerios down this morning, so hopefully he's on the way back up.

We are all so thoroughly exhausted that we are staying home today to rest.  Micah's cold is worse again this morning, as well, so we need to just lay low.

I'm looking forward to showing you pictures of our trip, but I've got over 2000 to work through so it might be a couple days before I start posting.

Thanks for all your prayers for safety and a good trip.  It was a trip worth taking in every way and we are so thankful we had the opportunity to go.

Blessings

The Jumper

Brandon LOVED jumping in the jumper.  Micah is no different!  That's the one place he will be happy the longest without being held and has on occasion been known to get mad when being taken out--mostly not, but every once in a great grand while.

Lately he's been teething and has come up with a brilliant move, but it does make his face look really funny.  I've yet to capture the whole look, but this is a slight impression.  He has two teeth on his bottom gums so he uses those to cut through his gums on the top, skewing his face awry.

But lately he's looked like this a lot in the jumper.  Still happy to be jumping, but not with much energy and has fallen asleep more than not while jumping.

I think we're finally on the mend...now if only he would sleep through the night and more than an hour in either the morning or afternoon, he'd be doing a lot better, I think.

"The Cold's in the House"

Have you ever played that game/sung the song, "The Farmer in the Dell"?  I was thinking about it this morning and came up with my own rendition:

The cold's in the house, the cold's in the house
Hi-ho the sneezio the cold's in the house.

The cold takes one brother, the cold takes one brother,
Hi-ho the sneezio the cold takes one brother.

The cold takes the young one, the cold takes the young one,
Hi-ho the sneezio the cold takes the young one.

The cold takes the mom, the cold takes the mom,
Hi-ho the sneezio the cold takes the mom.

Here's to praying the father doesn't get taken!

Ugh

Well, that went a completely different direction then I expected!  Brandon is doing just fine, but Micah is sick, sick, sick.  He spent the morning screaming if I wasn't holding him because he couldn't breathe through his nose and he was panicing.  I finally got him to sleep in the swing and just moved him to his bed--so far he's awake, but just talking to himself.  Really praying this blows over as quickly as Brandon's did!

Healing

We must be getting ready to go on a trip--Brandon has a cold.  Please pray for swift healing for him and pray against Micah getting sick as well.  Micah is teething big time right now so his defenses are down.
Thank you
