When Brandon's foot doctor was putting his first cast on she looked at me and said, "In two weeks we'll need to put another one on. That will be Friday the 13th." (She had a rather worried look on her face.) I in turn smiled at her and said, "Well, then it's a good thing I'm not superstitious." (She wasn't quite sure what to say to that.)
So, Friday the 13th, we headed down to Seattle once again. Brandon was excited and nervous all at the same time. We had talked through the loud noise and the saw that was going to cut his cast off, but he really didn't have any idea. It did help him not be as afraid, though, having had time to process what it might be like.

The old cast. |

Ever since Brandon was a baby he has HATED vacuum cleaners. He still runs to a different room when I turn mine on. |
|
Pretty scary looking contraption for a three year old. He kept saying, "Don't cut me!" |
|
Micah wasn't sure what to think of it all, but he didn't like the loud noise much either. |
|
His knee was pretty sore from being held in one position for so long. I tried exercising it a little, but it hurt too much. |

Round 2 begins. |

She took the time to fold the plaster in half so that she could make a green strip for him. He was pretty excited. |
Over the past two weeks he's been telling everyone that his next cast was going to be green. That morning, for some strange reason, he announced to me that he wanted purple and green, not just green. I wasn't sure the doctor would be able to do it, but she was more than happy to comply, but "only for boys she really likes." :)
Have a fabulous weekend.
