We're Home!

Well, we made it back.  It was an adventursome trip home, that's for sure!!  Checking in (us, our bags and hand carries) was four times as long and complicated as it should have been, the 12 hour flight to Atlanta was thankfully quite uneventful, but once we got through customs in Atlanta Brandon's diahrrea started and as we were saying good-bye to the last of my siblings, he vomitted and continued for the next 10 hours.  We were quite worried about him becoming dehydrated and at one point on the flight from Atlanta to Seattle he became quite lethargic.  We kept giving him sips of water, in the hopes keeping him hydrated, but inevitably 30 minutes later the little bit he kept down came back up again.  He could hardly walk by the time we arrived in Seattle from being so weak so we put him in the stroller and put Micah in the sling.

Don drove to pick us up in Seattle, but the normally 2.5 hour drive to the airport took him just under 4 hours because of the winter storm and icy roads.  Thankfully the roads weren't as bad on the way home and we made it back in a little over 3 hours.  On the drive home I talked to a nurse about Brandon.  The little tests she gave told me to do told us that he wasn't dangerously dehydrated so she said to get him up every couple hours and keep giving him sips of water and/or watered down Gatorade.  If he didn't keep anything down then we had to take him to the doctor today.  Thankfully he kept everything down last night and has continued asking for more liquid.  He even has kept a few cheerios down this morning, so hopefully he's on the way back up.

We are all so thoroughly exhausted that we are staying home today to rest.  Micah's cold is worse again this morning, as well, so we need to just lay low.

I'm looking forward to showing you pictures of our trip, but I've got over 2000 to work through so it might be a couple days before I start posting.

Thanks for all your prayers for safety and a good trip.  It was a trip worth taking in every way and we are so thankful we had the opportunity to go.

Blessings
