Today is Ascension Day. This is such an important day to Christians and the Church and yet hardly anyone knows when it is or celebrates it. Yes, Christmas is important--Jesus came as a baby into our world to show us the way. Yes, Easter is important--Christ died that we might be forgiven. But Ascension Day? Ascension Day is the day he promised us ETERNITY with God!! Eternity walking with our Lord, basking in His presence without the hindrance of sin.
Ascension Day and the promise that He WILL come back when the time is ready, is the day we should look forward to with more anticipation then any other holiday. It is the day we celebrate Jesus ascending to the Father to prepare a place for us that we might live with him forever.
