Where Did November Go?

Here's what has been happening in this small corner of the world...

At the beginning of November my parents came for a couple days to visit.

Jetlag finally caught up with him.

Brandon had a chance to show Grandpa and Grandma around his classroom.  He was very proud!

Bryan had an overnight lay-over in Seattle so we went down and spent the day with him.

One of the things he wanted to see was Pikes Place Market so we walked around there for a little while.  Somehow it came about that Micah should kiss the pig.  The first time he did it I didn't get it on camera so I asked him to do it again. However, by that point, Brandon had already climbed up on the snout.  And I present to you a future wedding picture...

Little Miss Lisa has been changing quickly.  She is now rolling from front to back and back to front and getting herself into trouble.  Yesterday she rolled herself into the mantle twice and got a couple scrapes on her head.  She didn't think that was such a fun game.  Today I heard, "Mom, come quick.  Lisa is so cute--she's playing with my duplo."  Somehow I don't think it will be so "cute" in a couple days when she starts taking said duplo and Thomas tracks apart.  And a couple times now she has flipped her jungle gym over on herself and played with it this way...

And she turned 5 MONTHS old.  Where did that time go?

The other day Brandon was at school and the house was REALLY quiet so I went on a hunt to find Micah.  I found him on the floor coloring away, perfectly content.  He had taken everything off the table and made himself comfortable in a way that Brandon had never thought to do.  It was fun to see him take charge of his own play.

Cal and Kinsley's Visit

Okay, we are hitting the rewind button just a little bit...

In the middle of July, my brother Cal and his son Kinsley came for a long weekend for our cousin's wedding, to meet Lisa and to give the boys a chance to play together for a couple days.  We packed in the fun!
On Friday we went out and picked some raspberries and headed out to the river on the four-wheelers.

Saturday was our annual trek up the mountain to go sledding.  It's our favorite time to go sledding because it's warm enough to wear short sleeves and yet there's still lots of snow.  Perfect combination.

Cal brought along his GoPro camera and attached it to the front of the sled.  We have some pretty hilarious videos of the rides down!

We ended the day by picking up KFC and going to Zuanich Park for supper.  It was so crazy windy, however, the food was blowing off the tables.  We didn't stay long.

Sunday was a wonderful day to relax.  Cal and Kinsley's flights home were Monday night so we put supper in the crockpot and took it to Mukilteo Lighthouse Park (a new park for us) and hung out there for a while.

After playing for a while, we went to ride the new Seattle ferris wheel.  SO WORTH IT!  I never realized how colorful Seattle is in the summertime.  With the sun setting the colors were pretty spectacular.

Brandon and Micah were quite upset to see Kinsley leave.  We enjoyed their visit thoroughly.

Until we see each other again...

Fun Times

The last several days have been packed full of fun!  Cal and Kinsley were here for a long weekend and we enjoyed having them so much.  Brandon was in tears as we drove away from the airport last night because he was sad his cousin Kinsley had to leave.  So neat to see cousins enjoying each other!

Until next time...

And then she was here!

Lisa Rachel Marie was born Thursday, June 13, 2013 at 10:57 am, after a short three hours of labor, weighing 8 lbs 8.6 oz and measuring 20 inches long.  The hospital was crazy busy that morning and she was the sixth baby born since 7am.  Bryan and the boys had been hoping for a girl from day one, but I was terrified of the thought of having a daughter.  Bryan was speechless when she first came out and he was told to tell me what we had.  She won all our hearts pretty quickly, though!

Most of the hospital pictures are on my dad's camera yet.  I completely forgot to take them off before they left.  Here's what I do have:

Getting ready to go home--she still doesn't like the car seat.

Oma and Auntie Stacey had been here for the week, hoping to meet the new baby.  I was starting to worry
they would have come and left without meeting her.  Pretty thankful they got to hold her before they left.

Four generations!

Proud grandpa with his two youngest grandkids.

Auntie Stacey lovins'!

First bath at home.

Brandon and Micah were so excited about having a new baby sister and they really wanted to show her off at church, but this mama wasn't quite up for all that excitement yet.  So we took some pictures of the boys holding her and printed them out.  I guess they proudly showed those pictures at church to whomever wanted to see them.

Nope, not ready for a girl at all!  I'm sure it won't be too long before she has more hanging clothes then the boys do, though.  ;)

Grandma's favorite spot--holding her grandkids and reading books on the floor.

Auntie Cheryl and Uncle Andrew came up last week for her baptism.

Lisa's first boat ride--eight days old.

Uncle Bryan was able to come for her baptism weekend as well!

 Precious daughter of the king!
