And then she was here!

Lisa Rachel Marie was born Thursday, June 13, 2013 at 10:57 am, after a short three hours of labor, weighing 8 lbs 8.6 oz and measuring 20 inches long.  The hospital was crazy busy that morning and she was the sixth baby born since 7am.  Bryan and the boys had been hoping for a girl from day one, but I was terrified of the thought of having a daughter.  Bryan was speechless when she first came out and he was told to tell me what we had.  She won all our hearts pretty quickly, though!

Most of the hospital pictures are on my dad's camera yet.  I completely forgot to take them off before they left.  Here's what I do have:

Getting ready to go home--she still doesn't like the car seat.

Oma and Auntie Stacey had been here for the week, hoping to meet the new baby.  I was starting to worry
they would have come and left without meeting her.  Pretty thankful they got to hold her before they left.

Four generations!

Proud grandpa with his two youngest grandkids.

Auntie Stacey lovins'!

First bath at home.

Brandon and Micah were so excited about having a new baby sister and they really wanted to show her off at church, but this mama wasn't quite up for all that excitement yet.  So we took some pictures of the boys holding her and printed them out.  I guess they proudly showed those pictures at church to whomever wanted to see them.

Nope, not ready for a girl at all!  I'm sure it won't be too long before she has more hanging clothes then the boys do, though.  ;)

Grandma's favorite spot--holding her grandkids and reading books on the floor.

Auntie Cheryl and Uncle Andrew came up last week for her baptism.

Lisa's first boat ride--eight days old.

Uncle Bryan was able to come for her baptism weekend as well!

 Precious daughter of the king!

Celebrating the Miracle of Life

Today we're celebrating the miracle of life:

It was a year ago today that Brandon went in to strider spasms and stopped breathing in my arms (thankfully we were already in the Dr.'s office).  We are thankful he is alive today.  It was also his last hospital admission--so we've made it a year with only one or two manageable croup attacks in the middle.

I'll never forget the look on his doctor's face.  She came in to our room after one night in the hospital and very gravely told me that because of the amount of medication he had to be on through the night, there was very little possibility he was going home for a day or two.  The look of utter surprise and shock on her face was priceless when she listened to his lungs and found them completely clear!  God knew we needed to be out of there.

He was discharged just in time to fly out to Colorado where we celebrated my grandfather passing from death to eternal life.  How could a time be so difficult and joyous all at the same time?

And today we're also celebrating the miracle of a new baby's life.  The baby was practicing it's defensive moves this morning, (getting ready to defend himself against his brothers I'm sure) and gave Bryan's hand a good solid KICK!  It was the first time Bryan had felt the baby move, which always makes new life growing in me more of a reality for him.

Life is a miracle every day.

Blessings on your weekend.

(PS There won't be pictures for a while, sorry.  Our big hard drive isn't working, where all my picture work has to take place.  Thankfully it is still under warranty so we should be back up and running a couple weeks.)

#3

My body has no idea what "due dates" are with one seven weeks early and another two weeks late.  But for those who want to know, my "official" due date is June 6.

(PS The second picture is proof we are NOT getting an indoor pet. ;))

Blessings
