Day 6: California Adventureland

Wednesday was a big day!  We went to both California Adventureland and Disneyland (across the street from each other, but lots in each park!)  We arrived there at around 10:30 am and rode rides until 8:30 that evening.  It was a cloudy/sprinkling/overcast day which was absolutely perfect.  It was quite amusing to see people pulling out umbrellas for the sprinkles where it just wasn't worth it for those of us who live in the northwest.  But what that also meant was we generally only had about 5-10 minute wait lines for each ride.  A couple of the more popular ones, mostly in Carsland, the waits were longer.  We also had the advantage of having an "app" that told us what the wait times at each ride were at any given moment so we planned our day according to what wait times were.  It was quite handy!

I'll split the day into two posts.

California Adventureland

First stop of the day was "Radiator Springs" (aka Carsland).

Dad, Andrew, Cheryl, Brandon and I headed out to ride bigger and faster rides while Bryan, Micah and Mom hung out in Carsland for a while.

We had lunch at Flo's cafe and Grandma bought the boys lunch in McQueen lunch boxes.  They are amazingly sturdy and have with stood traveling, racing, crashing, another picnic lunch and being fought over!
Telling Grandma all about the water ride we had just been on.

When Brandon saw McQueen drive through, his eyes went wide.

If you ask him what his favorite part of the day was, he'll say it was taking a picture with the "real" McQueen!

I think I need to blow up and print this picture for their room, what do you think?

Brandon really wanted to go on the water/tube ride again after lunch so we went one more time and Grandma came along with us.  We were all still a little wet from the first time around but mostly dried off.

Not one of us walked off dry after that last time (though dad got the brunt of the second run).

Then we were off to Disneyland.
